Amnesiac.

Of the April wind

                        the distant perdu

                        world, persists with

                                    the evening sea shore

conducts in sleep

            the phase of light.

                        There is no sun.

There are no wings

                                    in the abyss

                                                with black fruit,

                                                            beautified in the sacrificial

                                                            breath. Fall, fall.

                                                Amnesiac in the dream

                                                            the fragility in eternal, asleep,

                                                                        red winds

                                                catching the slice

                                    of water as it falls

                                                            onto its people

                                                to feast on our skin,

                                                            and on our lonely minds

                                                                        that dwell in trembling sand

                        Like an amnesiac dream,

                                    as the stones lie dead

                                                on the strange hands

                                                            of humanity

in the vapor in your eyes

like the pulse of the ocean

                                                forgetting all who go by.

Lovely, quite a lovely poem, Lucy,
    “catching the slice
    of water as it falls
    onto its people
    to feast on our skin,
    and on our lonely minds…”
    Such incredibly powerful verses…
    Loved it!
