waiting in your mind.

Waiting in your mind,
the stars above
desert my touch
your fingers peel
charred wine;

dissolution I find,
why can’t you be mine?

Against the underbelly
of the shore, dissected around
our entwined,
there is no sanctum
within the stars.
There is no home for you or I
within the stars.

I’m waiting in your mind,
death’s caitiff crackling,
reciting lies.

I stand in the glister
of my reflection

the ill-fated ocean sings

in my mind,
standing as a pylon,
while I squirm in yours;

weaving empty bones,
tree-like and dead,

frozen fingers
pry the moon-wept thorn,
mourning our ghosts,
I still love you.

  3. Oh, this is excellent work! – Honky and heartfelt.
    The night (nite) Pavement met a lo-fi Led Zep tribute band in the after party backroom and The Fall came along and cheered from the sidelines.
    It was a great party!
    Please add the lyric!

  4. I love how you use words that sound so choppy and cluttered, yet flow into one frame of understanding at the same time. Idk if that’s what you were going for or if what I said makes any sense, but I love it! I so aspire to write poetry this emotionally inducing someday.🥰

    • Aww, thank you. Yes, with this piece, I was going for more a cluttered vibe with a tad of hopelessness at the end.

      That is so very kind of you to say. Thank you very much for your feedback and words. It means a lot. 🥰

    I don’t know why but this hits different.
