“The Body Rotten” by Dominic Alapat.

from inside
tells me
the earthly life
is very painful
that it will go
from bad to worse
and there’s nothing
I can do about it
and my neighbours
talk in the morning sunlight
and I think about
my end
and then I think about
the new born baby next door
and I smile
and after a while
I can hear Laxmanan talking
and his family members laughing
and the birds chirp
and Noorja and
the new born baby’s mother chat
and Noorja calls
baby baby baby
and I look up
at the sky
and it is glowing
with love
and I laugh at death
till I hear it laughing too
and then both of us go
hoo hoo hoo.
